Sherman Dolman was a white male that was a blacksmith for 40 years and later was a painter. He died when he was 75 years old. Sherman Dolman worked herd his whole life. He lived honestly and expected the same from others. He was born in Germany moved here when he was six years old. He lived what would be called an avereage life then. Having been through the depression living without shoes, a poor diet, and clothes being shipped from the east. My impression of him is that he lived life, saw and did many things. Seeing the Indians come, helping his father as a blacksmith. He was said to be a good man and I can belive that.

This picture is good example of The Great Depression because it shows bad living conditions. It also shows a shack. During this time many people did not have a lot of money. You see feilds and children in teared clothing and bare feet. They aren't smiling. They are surving off of something we today would take for granted.

This picture is a good example of the great depression because, it shows that it was a crisis that all were affected by not just the bottom classes. Also it shows that men, who were usually portrayed as the head and dominance of a family had to admit that they did not have enough money to even provide food and so they had to stand in these soup lines. I also think that because this picture is in black and white it shows how the great depression was a time of sadness and darkness for all people.
